Adsum Archive

Adsum of NYC had an archive sale fairly recently. Jackets with ridiculous RRPs went for peanuts - even with the overpriced shipping from the states left us quids in. Picked up a Spinner jacket which is the lightest, thinnest and summeresque coat I've ever purchased...

Barbour Thornhill

Fresh from Barbour's back room. The Thornhill. South Shields finests take on the classic four pocket parka in a hikerdelic olive. Plenty of pockets for the compass and Kendal mint cake.

Pleased with this pick up. Headed to Bede blindly, armed only with a few bob of cold hard Christmas cash and no clue if there'd be owt decent. Been a few years since I've visited and I was pleasantly surprised that Barbs have done the place out. Unfortunately I wasn't pleased with the calibre of stock, wave after wave of beige utility jackets and dayglo plasticky looking Internationals. Until I spied this beauty. The only one in the whole place and in my size to boot. Lucky man. £79 down from £220 due to a slight smudge of the B inside. Beautiful.

The eagle eyed amongst you may notice the Clarks Seam Treks pictured too. Another purchase on the same day but you'll have to wait for another blog soon...

tuktuk

This Manchester based shirt making company have been on my radar for a long long while. But I've only just got round to purchasing my first ever one and consider myself to have wasted valuable time. I know tuktuk pride themselves on making quality shirts at reasonable prices, which they are, but being a thrifty type I prefer to wait for sales. And the last two years I've missed out as being a bigger gent these sizes tend to go first. Well not this time. Picked up this beautiful blue combi check - wonderfully crafted and a smashing fit -  in the required size 5 for just over £25. Love the slight brushed cotton effect and breast pocket with contrasting red button. Easily the best shirt in my wardrobe and for a sum that didn't break the bank.
